All CS2 Callouts: Complete Map Callouts Guide 2026

Knowing CS2 callouts is one of the easiest ways to become a better teammate. You can have perfect aim, but if your comms are just “he’s over there,” your team is still going to have a hard time reacting.

Callouts are the names players use for specific areas of a map. Instead of saying an enemy is somewhere near A, you can say Palace, Banana, Heaven, Secret or Donut and your teammates immediately know where to look.

This guide covers the most important CS2 callouts across the current competitive maps, with links to our complete map guides if you want to learn every position in detail.

Valve’s current Active Duty pool includes Ancient, Anubis, Cache, Dust II, Inferno, Mirage and Nuke, with Cache replacing Overpass for Premier Season 5. You can also see our complete CS2 maps guide for more information on the map pool.

Mirage Callouts

Mirage Callouts

Mirage is probably the best map to start with because most CS2 players already understand its major positions.

Important Mirage callouts include T Spawn, T Ramp, Palace, A Main, Tetris, Default, Triple, Ninja, Firebox, Stairs, Jungle, Connector, Window, Top Mid, Underpass, Catwalk, B Apartments, Van, Bench, Market and B Site.

Mid control especially relies on clear calls between Window, Connector, Catwalk and Underpass.

Dust 2 Callouts

Dust 2 Callouts

Dust II has some of the easiest callouts to remember.

The main positions are A Long, A Short, Catwalk, Goose, Ramp, Car, A Site, CT Spawn, Mid, Suicide, Xbox, Top Mid, Lower Tunnels, Upper Tunnels, B Doors, B Window, B Platform, Back Site and B Site.

If somebody calls “one Xbox” or “two Long,” there should be no confusion about where the fight is happening.

Learn them all in our Dust 2 callouts guide.

Inferno Callouts

Inferno Callouts

Inferno gets more complicated because so much of the map revolves around narrow areas and small positions.

The callouts you should learn first include Banana, Logs, Car, Sandbags, Coffins, Construction, New Box, Dark, B Site, CT, Mid, Top Mid, Second Mid, Alt Mid, Boiler, Apartments, Balcony, Pit, Graveyard, Library, Arch, Moto and A Site. Inferno’s Mid area in particular uses names such as Top Mid, Second Mid, Boiler and Alt Mid.

See our full CS2 Inferno callouts guide.

Nuke Callouts

Nuke Callouts

Nuke is where good callouts really start to matter because the map has two bombsites stacked vertically.

Important positions include Hut, Squeaky, Rafters, Heaven, Hell, Main, Mini, Vents, T Red, CT Red, Garage, Secret, Silo, Lockers, Ramp, Big Box, Lobby, Radio, Trophy, Decon, Control, Dark and B Site.

Someone being “B” is not enough information on Nuke. Decon, Dark, Control and Bottom Ramp can completely change where your teammate needs to aim.

Use our complete CS2 Nuke callouts guide to learn the layout.

Ancient Callouts

Ancient Callouts

Ancient has a lot of names that new players mix up.

The most useful ones include A Main, Temple, Donut, Triple Box, B Main, Cave, Jaguar, Pillar, Ramp, Ruins, Mid, Red, Elbow, Connector, Cubby, T Spawn, CT Spawn, Alley and Water.

Donut and Mid are especially important because they connect so much of the map.

Check our full Ancient callouts guide.

Anubis Callouts

Anubis Callouts

Anubis becomes much easier once you understand its Mid and Water areas.

The core callouts include A Main, A Long, A Short, A Site, A Heaven, A Ramp, B Main, B Long, B Short, B Site, B Bridge, B Heaven, Mid, Mid Bridge, Connector and Water.

Read our CS2 Anubis callouts guide for the full map breakdown.

Cache Callouts

Cache Callouts

Cache returned to Active Duty for Premier Season 5, so learning its callouts is important again.

The main Cache positions are A Main, Squeaky, Default, Quad, Forklift, NBK, Truck, B Main, Checkers, Heaven, Headshot, Back Site, Mid, White Box, Vents, Sandbags, Boost, Highway, Z and Garage.

Our CS2 Cache callouts guide goes into every major area.

What About Overpass, Vertigo and Cobblestone?

Maps move in and out of the competitive pool, so they are still worth learning. Overpass was removed from Active Duty when Cache arrived in Season 5, but you can still use our Overpass callouts guide and Vertigo callouts guide.

We also have a complete Cobblestone callouts guide if you play community versions or want to be ready if the map becomes more important again.

How to Learn CS2 Callouts Faster

Do not try to memorize an entire map in one sitting. Learn the major entrances, bombsite positions and rotation areas first, then pick up the smaller names naturally while playing.

Walking around maps in a private server also helps. Our CS2 smoke practice guide gives you an easy setup for practicing maps and utility.

Callouts might seem like a small part of Counter Strike, but clean communication can decide rounds. Learn the common names first, use them consistently, and after enough games they become automatic.
