Instead, this list ranks the best CS2 players of 2026 so far using individual form, MVP and EVP awards, playoff performances, results against elite teams, role difficulty, and team success.

How We Ranked the Best CS2 Players
Statistics matter, but the highest rating does not automatically make someone the best player.
Our ranking gives extra weight to:
- Performance against top-ranked teams
- Major, LAN and playoff results
- MVP and EVP awards
- Individual consistency
- Difficulty of the player’s role
- Team trophies and deep tournament runs
- Ability to decide important rounds
This approach prevents one great event or a collection of inflated group-stage statistics from deciding the entire list.
1. ZywOo
ZywOo remains the best CS2 player of 2026 so far.
The Vitality superstar opened the year with an incredible run, winning the IEM Krakow MVP with a 1.59 event rating—the highest Big Event rating of his career. He followed it with MVP awards at PGL Cluj-Napoca and IEM Rio, repeatedly producing his best Counter-Strike when Vitality reached the playoffs. won five consecutive titles during the first half of 2026, and ZywOo remained the most important part of that success. His ability to dominate with either the AWP or a rifle gives him an advantage over more specialized players. 2. m0NESY
No player ended the first half of 2026 with a bigger victory than m0NESY.
The Falcons AWPer won the IEM Cologne Major and received the Major MVP award after finishing the tournament with a 1.25 rating. His fast start in the grand final helped Falcons build a 2-0 map lead, and his consistency separated him from teammates kyousuke and NiKo in an extremely close MVP race. his first Major removed one of the few missing pieces from m0NESY’s career. ZywOo ranks slightly higher because of his complete body of work across the year, but another trophy-winning run could quickly push m0NESY into first place.

3. donk
Donk may still be the most mechanically overwhelming player in CS2.
His aggressive entry style forces him into difficult opening fights, yet he continues to produce numbers normally associated with protected AWPers and passive closers. At PGL Astana, donk recorded a 1.61 rating and earned his first MVP award of 2026 while leading Spirit to the trophy. finished fourth in HLTV’s ranking of the best players at the Cologne Major. The only factor keeping donk below ZywOo and m0NESY is team success across the entire season. His individual ceiling is high enough to finish 2026 at number one if Spirit win more elite events.

4. flameZ
FlameZ has developed from an aggressive role player into a genuine superstar.
His speed creates space for Vitality, but he is no longer valuable only because of his entries. He has become more consistent in late-round situations and regularly produces star-level numbers during playoff matches.
At BLAST Rivals 2026 Season 1, flameZ earned the top EVP after posting a 1.29 rating in Vitality’s map wins, narrowly trailing ZywOo in the MVP race. His performances throughout Vitality’s five-trophy run make him one of the most successful and impactful riflers of the year. pz
Ropz remains one of the smartest and most dependable players in professional Counter-Strike.
His positioning, patience and decision-making make him extremely difficult to eliminate in late rounds. He rarely forces unnecessary fights, but he still finds openings when Vitality need someone to break a defensive setup.

6. kyousuke
Kyousuke is no longer simply a promising prospect. He is already performing like one of the best riflers in the world.
The young Falcons star finished as the second-best player at the IEM Cologne Major, directly behind m0NESY. He recorded a 1.30 arena rating—the highest of any player at the event—and has averaged a 1.27 playoff rating while playing under karrigan. le size against elite opposition is still smaller than the players above him, but his aim and confidence suggest he could enter the top five before the season ends.

7. NiKo
NiKo finally added a Major championship to one of the greatest rifling careers in Counter-Strike history.
He began 2026 by winning the BLAST Bounty Season 1 MVP and later finished as the third-best player at the Cologne Major. His experience became especially important during Falcons’ playoff run, where he combined elite rifle mechanics with more disciplined decision-making. not dominate every event the way he once did, but he remains one of the most dangerous riflers in any high-pressure series. 8. sh1ro
Sh1ro continues to provide Spirit with an incredibly reliable second superstar beside donk.
His passive AWPing is very different from m0NESY’s aggressive approach, but his survival, positioning and clutch ability make him one of the hardest players to punish. He earned another Big Event EVP at the Cologne Major, bringing his career total to 26 and placing him fourth on the all-time list at that point. es not always receive as much attention as donk, but Spirit would be far less stable without him.
9. molodoy
Molodoy has continued proving that his breakout performances were not temporary.
The FURIA AWPer finished sixth in HLTV’s ordered list of the best players at the Cologne Major, helping his team reach the grand final. His calm AWPing and ability to survive difficult rounds give FURIA a reliable star around whom they can build their system. needs more trophy-winning performances to move higher, but another deep Major run would put him firmly in the top-five discussion.

10. HeavyGod
HeavyGod earns the final position because of his consistency despite G2’s uneven results.
He remained among the highest-rated players during the first half of 2026 and earned an EVP at the Cologne Major. Producing elite numbers on a team that is not consistently winning makes his individual form even more impressive. must convert those performances into deeper tournament runs, but his personal level already belongs in the top-ten conversation.
Honorable Mentions
W0nderful narrowly misses the ranking after winning his first career MVP at IEM Atlanta with a 1.31 rating across 16 maps. KSCERATO, YEKINDAR and latto also produced excellent stretches, with latto winning the CS Asia Championships MVP and YEKINDAR earning an EVP during FURIA’s Cologne Major run. deserves separate recognition. His individual numbers do not place him among the top ten fraggers, but his leadership was central to Falcons winning the Cologne Major. Ranking in-game leaders directly against superstar AWPers and riflers remains difficult because their value cannot be measured by rating alone.
Who Is the Best CS2 Player in 2026?
ZywOo is the best CS2 player of 2026 so far because he has the strongest combination of individual performance, MVP awards, playoff impact and team success.
M0NESY has the year’s biggest single achievement after winning the Cologne Major and Major MVP. Donk remains the most explosive rifler and may have the highest raw mechanical ceiling. The race is far from finished, and the second half of 2026 could completely change the order.
