CS2 Collections in Order: Complete Release Timeline

Trying to find every CS2 collection in order gets confusing fast. Some databases include map collections, operation rewards, cases, terminals, stickers and even one-off Armory items in the same list.

This guide keeps things cleaner. It covers the 50 multi-skin weapon collections released through map drops, operations, souvenir packages, the Armory, Weekly Care Packages and Valve’s newer Terminal system. The timeline begins with the original 2013 collections and finishes with Arabesque and Spy Tech, added on July 8, 2026.

CS2 Collections in Order: Complete Release Timeline

Quick answer: The first CS2 skin collections arrived with the Arms Deal era in August 2013. The newest are the Arabesque Collection and Spy Tech Collection, released on July 8, 2026. Under the scope used in this guide, Valve has released 50 standalone, map, operation, Armory and Terminal weapon collections.

What Counts as a CS2 Collection?

A weapon collection is a defined group of finishes connected by a release, map, theme or reward system. The Cobblestone Collection, for example, is tied to the map and its souvenir packages. The Control Collection was released through Operation Broken Fang, while Spy Tech is an Armory collection.

Case collections are slightly different. Names such as the Kilowatt Collection, Gallery Collection and Revolution Collection describe the normal weapon finishes found inside their matching cases.

Those case-contained collections are not included in the main timeline below. You can compare them separately in our guide to the best CS2 cases to open or browse CS2 cases on DaddySkins.

Valve’s rotating “Limited Edition Item” Armory slot is also excluded because it is a reward category rather than one permanent multi-skin collection.

Valve’s operation pages confirm the collection groups introduced with Shattered Web, Broken Fang and Riptide. Its official 2025 and 2026 updates also confirm the additions of Ascent, Boreal, Radiant, Achroma, Harlequin, Dead Hand, Arabesque and Spy Tech.

There are gaps in the timeline because Valve did not release a new standalone weapon collection every year. Years such as 2016, 2017 and 2022 still received cases or other cosmetic content, but no qualifying collection under the scope above.

How CS2 Collections Are Released

The release date tells you when a collection entered Counter-Strike, but it does not necessarily tell you how its skins can be obtained now. Valve regularly changes drop pools, removes Armory rewards and rotates maps.

Weekly Care Package collections

Prime players can earn a Weekly Care Package after gaining a profile level through official Valve matchmaking. Depending on the current reward pool, the available choices can include a weapon skin, case or graffiti.

Read our complete explanation of the CS2 weekly drop reset and the legitimate ways to get free CS2 skins before relying on weekly rewards.

The available collections can change without much warning, so do not assume an older guide still reflects the live pool.

Armory collections

Armory collections are redeemed with credits earned through an active Armory Pass. The Armory launched on October 2, 2024 with Graphic Design, Overpass 2024 and Sport & Field.

Valve later added and removed collections as the Armory changed. On July 8, 2026, Arabesque and Spy Tech entered the Armory while Train 2025 and Sport & Field left it.

You can see the full skin lists in our CS2 Arabesque Collection guide and CS2 Spy Tech Collection guide. The wider update is covered in our CS2 Premier Season 5 breakdown.

Operation collections

Operation collections were originally available through paid operation passes, mission rewards or operation stores.

Shattered Web introduced Canals, Norse and St. Marc. Broken Fang added Ancient, Control and Havoc. Riptide followed with updated 2021 versions of Dust 2, Mirage, Train and Vertigo.

Once an operation ends, its skins do not automatically enter regular weekly drops. Supply may instead come from existing inventories, trade-ups, marketplaces or souvenir packages.

Terminal collections

Genesis and Dead Hand use Valve’s newer Terminal format rather than a normal case and key.

A Terminal presents offers connected to its collection. This means the purchase flow is different from opening an ordinary weapon case, even though the available item is still determined through Valve’s system.

The Dead Hand Collection was released on March 11, 2026 with 17 community-created weapon finishes and 22 new glove finishes as rare special items.

Souvenir and inactive collections

Map collections such as Cobblestone, Ancient, Anubis and the different Mirage or Dust 2 versions may appear in souvenir packages connected to Majors and the tournament map pool.

Other collections are inactive or retired. Their skins may only be available through existing inventories, trading, marketplaces or eligible Trade Up Contracts. Our guide to souvenir skin trade-ups explains the additional restrictions players should check.

What Collectors Should Check Before Buying

Collection age alone does not make a skin valuable. Demand depends on the weapon, finish, rarity, available supply, float, pattern and how the item can still enter the market.

First, verify the exact collection. Mirage, 2021 Mirage and a case collection containing a Mirage-themed skin are not interchangeable.

Next, check whether the collection is still dropping. A retired Armory collection has a different supply outlook from an active Weekly Care Package collection.

Inspect the skin itself as well. Two copies with the same wear label can have noticeably different float values. The CS2 float and wear guide explains what to inspect before paying a premium.

Collection selection also matters in contracts because eligible outputs are connected to the input collections. Read the CS2 Trade Up Contract guide and calculate every possible result before submitting valuable skins.

Players who would rather avoid random outcomes can search for a specific item through the DaddySkins skin exchange. The skin upgrader provides another format, but outcomes still carry risk and should never be treated as guaranteed profit.

Are Older CS2 Collections Better?

Older collections are often more interesting to collectors because their supply may be limited, but older does not always mean more valuable.

The Cobblestone Collection has major historical demand because it contains the AWP Dragon Lore and has limited modern supply. Other early collections contain less desirable weapons or finishes and may receive far less attention.

Newer collections can also become expensive when they contain popular AK-47, AWP, M4 or pistol skins. Market prices depend on actual supply and demand, not simply the year printed beside a collection.

Case opening and other chance-based features should be treated as entertainment. Results are random, prices move constantly, and opening repeatedly does not guarantee a valuable item. New players should first learn how to get CS2 cases and set a fixed spending limit.
