Rush is CS2’s 3v3 mode built around capturing towers and pushing toward the enemy castle. Valve introduced it in the September 22, 2026 Rush Hour update. Each match uses a different selection of small arenas, so you need to read the objective and adjust as the fight moves. Steam Community Announcements
How to Play Rush in CS2
- Open CS2 and select Play.
- Choose Rush in the official matchmaking menu.

Rush is available without Prime. However, CS2 Prime Status is required to earn Profile XP and qualify for weekly rewards. Prime Status and Free to Play
How Do Rush Tower Rules Work?
Reach the tower and use the Interact key, normally E, to capture it. You can take control while enemies are still alive.
The tower decides who wins:

| Tower owners eliminate the attackers | Tower owners win immediately |
| Attackers eliminate the tower owners | Survivors must capture before the remaining timer expires |
After attackers wipe the defending team, the capture window is capped at seven seconds, or 14 seconds in the castles and Convoy. If less time was already remaining, you get less time.
That is why chasing the last opponent across the arena can cost you the round. Finish fights close enough to reach the tower.
Standard rounds last 40 seconds. Castle rounds and Convoy last 60 seconds. These timings and control rules are supported by the Rush map script. GitHub
How Do You Win a Rush Match?
Round wins move the fight toward the losing team’s castle. Win inside the enemy castle to finish the match early.
A match can also end when a team reaches eight round wins, with a maximum of 15 rounds. At 7–7, the deciding round takes place in Convoy.
Four straight wins from the starting arena can produce a 4–0 finish.
Does CS2 Rush Have Ranks?
As of October 13, 2026, Rush has no separate Skill Group or CS Rating. Its friends leaderboard tracks wins.
Rush results do not change your Competitive rank or Premier Rating.
Wingman remains the ranked 2v2 option, using a bomb objective rather than Rush’s tower system. daddyskins.com
Is Rush Good for XP and Weekly Drops?
Prime players can earn Profile XP through official matches, but short matches alone do not establish Rush as the fastest XP method. Weekly bonuses and results affect progression. Prime Status and Free to Play

How to Win More Rush Rounds
- Check tower ownership first. Defend an owned tower; plan a route to an enemy-controlled one.
- Trade with a teammate. Losing one player removes a third of your team.
- Choose your grenade carefully. Rush limits each player to one grenade per round.
- Cover the capture. Let one teammate interact while another watches the approach.
The grenade limit is set in Rush’s configuration. The other points are practical recommendations based on its tower rules.
