MOUZ are the BLAST Bounty Season 2 champions after defeating Team Spirit 3-1 in the grand final in Malta.
Spirit entered the series as the clear favorite. They were ranked first in the world, had beaten MOUZ in their previous seven meetings and had donk, sh1ro and the rest of their stacked roster behind them. None of that mattered once the match started.
MOUZ took control early, won both opening maps and eventually closed the series on Nuke. The victory gives the organization its first trophy of 2026 and its first championship since PGL Cluj Napoca in March 2025.
Anyone who followed our BLAST Summer 2026 guide knew MOUZ had the talent to make a deep run. Still, beating Spirit this convincingly in a best of five final was difficult to predict.
MOUZ Finally Break Their Losing Streak Against Spirit
The matchup had become one of the most frustrating ones on the calendar for MOUZ.
Spirit had won seven consecutive series against them before this final, including meetings at PGL Astana, IEM Rio and IEM Kraków. MOUZ had come close at times, but Spirit usually found a way to take control.
That history made the final feel even bigger.
MOUZ were not only playing for the trophy. They were trying to prove that their rebuilt lineup could beat one of the strongest teams in professional CS2. You can learn more about the organization and its players in our complete MOUZ CS2 roster guide.
This time, MOUZ did not allow the pressure or past results to affect them. They played the cleaner Counter Strike from the opening pistol round and made Spirit look uncomfortable for most of the series.
Dust 2: MOUZ Make the First Statement
Spirit picked Dust 2, but MOUZ looked more prepared from the start.
Spinx was everywhere. He finished the map with 23 kills and only 8 deaths, constantly finding openings and shutting down Spirit before their rounds could develop.
MOUZ won Dust 2 13-8, immediately taking away Spirit’s map pick and putting the favorites under pressure.
Donk produced a nice one versus three clutch, but it ended up being one of the few bright moments for Spirit during the opening maps. MOUZ traded efficiently, controlled the economy and rarely gave Spirit the individual fights they wanted.

Mirage: Spirit Completely Fall Apart
Mirage was even more one sided.
MOUZ dominated the map 13-4 and moved within one map of the trophy. Spinx once again led the server, adding another 20 kills while Spirit struggled to create any consistent openings.
The worrying part for Spirit was not simply the score. Their entire attack looked disconnected. Donk could not find his usual entries, sh1ro had limited opportunities with the AWP and MOUZ always seemed ready for the next move.
Mirage also marked the fifth consecutive map where donk finished with a negative kill to death record, something that had never happened before in his professional career.
That is a strange stat for a player who remains one of the most mechanically gifted competitors in the game. We currently rank him among the best CS2 players of 2026, and his difficult start made MOUZ’s performance even more impressive.

Ancient: Donk Keeps Spirit Alive
Spirit finally looked like themselves on Ancient.
MOUZ built a 9-6 lead and appeared ready to complete the sweep, but donk suddenly came alive. His aggressive entries started working, Spirit tightened their defense and MOUZ failed to win another round.
Spirit completed the comeback with seven straight rounds, winning Ancient 13-9 and forcing the series onto Nuke. Donk finished the map with 21 kills, providing the type of individual performance Spirit had been waiting for all afternoon.
It was a reminder of what donk can do when he gets comfortable. His performances were also the main reason Spirit won PGL Astana 2026 earlier in the season.

Nuke: MOUZ Close the Final
Ancient gave Spirit some hope, but MOUZ never allowed the comeback to fully develop.
Nuke remained close throughout the first 20 rounds. MOUZ led 7-5 at halftime before Spirit tied the map at 7-7. From there, both teams exchanged rounds until the score reached 10-10.
That was when MOUZ finally pulled away.
Spinx found a four kill round against Spirit’s pistols to put MOUZ on championship point. The next round ended against a weak Spirit purchase, giving MOUZ the 13-10 victory and the BLAST Bounty trophy.
The final map showed how composed the new lineup could be. MOUZ did not panic after losing Ancient or after Spirit tied Nuke. They continued playing their system, trusted their setups and waited for Spirit to make mistakes.

Spinx Wins His First Career MVP Award
Spinx was easily the biggest difference between the two teams.
The MOUZ rifler finished the grand final with 78 kills, 38 deaths, 101 average damage per round and a 1.54 rating. He earned Player of the Map honors on three of the four maps.
That performance also earned Spinx the first HLTV MVP award of his career. He had previously received numerous EVP awards and played on several championship teams, but had never taken home an individual MVP medal.
His final numbers were ridiculous:
Dust 2: 23 kills
Mirage: 20 kills
Ancient: 15 kills
Nuke: 20 kills
It was not simply the number of kills either. Spinx consistently delivered them in important rounds. He opened sites, shut down Spirit’s attacks and produced the multikill that placed MOUZ on championship point.
What This Victory Means for MOUZ
This title arrives at the perfect time for MOUZ.
The organization entered the event with a changed lineup featuring PR and xelex, while xertioN had recently taken over leadership responsibilities. PR was also making his MOUZ debut at BLAST Bounty Season 2.
Winning immediately does not guarantee that the roster will dominate every future tournament. Even xertioN admitted after the match that one strong event does not automatically make MOUZ a top three team again.
It does prove that this lineup has serious potential.
PR and xelex now have their first tier one trophies, xertioN has shown that he can lead the team through a high pressure final and Spinx looks ready to become the central star of the roster.
MOUZ leave Malta with $226,563 in prize money, an additional $40,000 club share and something even more valuable: confidence heading into the second half of the season.
What Went Wrong for Team Spirit?
Spirit did not lose because of one bad map or one unlucky round.
Their stars were quiet for too long. Donk finished the full series with 56 kills and 65 deaths, while sh1ro, zont1x, tN1R and magixx all ended with negative differentials.
MOUZ also did an excellent job of denying donk the aggressive opening fights that normally allow him to take over matches. When he finally found his rhythm on Ancient, Spirit looked dangerous again. By then, MOUZ already had a two map advantage.
Spirit remain one of the strongest teams in the world, but this result showed that even their firepower can be contained by disciplined trading and good preparation.

Final Thoughts
MOUZ could not have asked for a better way to begin the new stage of their roster.
They defeated 3DMAX, survived a close semifinal against Astralis and then beat the world’s number one ranked team 3-1 in the grand final. More importantly, they did it without relying on a lucky veto or one unbelievable comeback.
They were simply the better team.
Spinx delivered the best individual final of his career, xertioN led the team through difficult moments and the young additions handled the pressure of a tier one championship match.
