It simply starts a new reward week. Valve&#8217;s own Steam page says Prime players are eligible for item drops and weapon cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you&#8217;re new to Prime, our <a href=\"https:\/\/daddyskins.com\/blog\/counterpedia\/is-cs2-free-to-play\/\">CS2 free to play and Prime guide<\/a> explains the difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once the weekly reset happens:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Play an official Valve mode that gives Profile XP<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Earn enough XP to reach your next Profile Rank<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your Weekly Care Package unlocks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pick <strong>two rewards from the four shown<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That&#8217;s it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Playing ten hours does not give you ten packages. You&#8217;ll then have to work toward another full level after the reset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Players have been doing this for years, and recent 2026 discussions still confirm that your existing XP progress carries into the next week. It&#8217;s the <strong>level-up after the reset<\/strong> that matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If your XP suddenly feels painfully slow, that is usually a separate system. Our <a href=\"https:\/\/daddyskins.com\/blog\/counterpedia\/cs2-float-guide\/\">CS2 float and wear guide<\/a> explains why.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Most weeks, though, don&#8217;t expect anything crazy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Someone on the CS2 subreddit recently posted about finally getting their first genuinely good weekly drop after <strong>2,500 hours<\/strong>, which is a pretty good summary of the experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Weekly drops are free. It turned out the reward was already waiting in the Store page, and they didn&#8217;t even need to restart CS2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One last thing: if you&#8217;re Rank 40 and thinking about claiming a Service Medal, remember that doing so resets your Profile Rank progress.
